Glen Ellyn Man Found Pinching Heroin From 17-Gram Delivery

A Glen Ellyn man was one of two men charged with heroin possession March 3 after Forest Park police found them pinching some off the top of 17 grams they were delivering, police said.

Michael Grossinger, 32, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a seat belt violation.

Wang Lee, 37, of Skokie, was charged with possession of a controlled sbustance, disobeying a stop sign, seat belt violation and other cannabis offense. 

Police were called to the 500 block of Marengo shortly after 2 p.m. in reference to a suspicious vehicle. An officer saaw a hypodermic syringe on the center console of the car and said the passenger was bent over concealing items.

The passenger, Grossinger, exited the car and police reocvered a syringe and found heroin inside a CD case. When the driver, Lee, exited the car a small bag of heroin fell on the ground. There was also a bag of heroin on the driver's side ground, as well as loose heroin spread throughout, police said. 

Police found 14 more small baggies of heroin in the driver's ash tray, as well as a wallet that contained another syringe and a spoon with burnt heroin residue. Another 12 baggies of heroin were found inside a cigarette carton. 

Officers also smelled weed while searching the car and said they found a backpack with marijuana inside the trunk. Both men said they were transporting the heroin in a drug deal and were skimming some from each bag. 

In total, police weighed the heroin at 17 grams (10 in Lee's possession and 7 in Grossinger's possession). The marijuana was weighed at 31 grams. The men were both given a March 28 court date.
