Toothy Cat, Laid Back Lab Seeking Good Homes

Considering adopting a new pet, or just want to enjoy some cute animal photos? Here is our weekly feature devoted to homeless dogs and cats.

Each week we bring you two pets looking for homes at area rescue groups. This week the pets are from DuPage County Animal Care and Control. We welcome other animal shelters and rescue groups to contact us to participate in this weekly column. To participate, contact Glen Ellyn Local Editor Mary Ann Lopez.

Charles

Charles is a 9-to-10-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever. He was brought into DuPage County Animal Care and Control as a stray. Since coming to the shelter, Charles has become a staff favorite. He loves to lounge in the front office. Charles has had some training and knows basic commands such as “sit” and some cool tricks such as “give paw.” He is super sweet and very calm. He doesn’t mind hanging out with other animals and is always friendly. Charles would make the perfect companion for someone looking for a laid back dog to sit and watch TV with. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a 7-year-old Male domestic shorthair cat. He came to DuPage County Animal Care and Control as an owner give up. He wasn’t getting along with the other cat in the house. He currently lives in our cat room with plenty of other cats, but may prefer to be the only feline in your household. He is a very well behaved cat and is always calm and friendly.  Due to only having one tooth, yes I said ONE, he eats lots of wet food mixed in with his dry food. The shelter staff finds his one tooth very endearing and hope someone else agrees. Pumpkin is current on his vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.
