Pets of the Week: Small Animals Need Love Too!

Glen Ellyn Patch shares information on adoptable animals waiting for homes at area animal shelters.

Each week we bring you two pets looking for homes at area rescue groups. This week the pets are from DuPage County Animal Care and Control. We welcome other animal shelters and rescue groups to contact us to participate in this weekly column. To participate, contact Glen Ellyn Local Editor Mary Ann Lopez.

Anastacia

Anastacia is a spayed, 2-year-old short hair.  She came into DuPage County Animal Care and Control in early May due to her family having allergies.  She is a very sweet kitty, but is a little shy until she gets to know you. Once she is acquainted with you, she is extremely affectionate and loves attention. She is always well behaved and calm. Since she does tend to be shy, she would do best in a quiet household. Since she has been a resident of the shelter for so long, Friends of DuPage County Animal Care and Control will pay half of her adoption fee.

Lizzie and Missy - Gerbils

Missy and Lizzie are 2-year-old female gerbils. They were brought to DuPage County Animal Care and Control by family who’s landlord would not allow them. Both are very friendly and don’t mind being handled. They are active and enjoy playtime in a safe and secure area. Missy and Lizzie are great reminders that even small critters can become homeless. They are $15 a piece to adopt and their cage and supplies can be purchased through the shelter at a discounted rate.
