News Alert
Geneva Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash

"Joanie" is from Beirut, Lebanon, and is not accustomed to our climate and open areas. She has been running scared since Saturday, Dec 7th, when she escaped while being transferred to her new foster home.

She has been spotted in the Scottdale Subdivision area, Glenn Ellyn Woods area off of Park Ave, Valley View, and most recently (12/11/13, 3pm) in the Foxgrove area just south of COD on Lambert. She will not come when called. Any help luring her into a yard or car would be appreciated! Also, please call volunteer search line at 630-863-5328 or local police if seen!!! This is a life-or-death situation!!!

It appears that Joanie has abandoned Scottdale and moved north into Glen Ellyn, presumably to avoid the coyotes. The last confirmed sighting of Joanie was on Fawell Sunday morning, and we have since found numerous tracks just north of there (her tracks show the dragging leash). We have established relationships with a couple of homeowners in that area, who are allowing us to place the food in their yards. We hope to keep Joanie alive by feeding her, and to habituate her to that one area. And maybe one day soon, she will approach someone again and be apprehended. NEWSFLASH! Late yesterday, we set out food in dishes in a yard on Kenilworth, and this morning the food was gone, and the area covered with her fresh prints and the leash drag marks!!! We'll keep feeding and monitoring. And posting updates.
