Adopt Me! Calista and Rocky

Every week Glen Ellyn Patch will share information about adoptable pets waiting for homes at local animal shelters.

Every week we bring you two pets looking for homes at area rescue groups. This week the pets are from Animal Rescue Foundation – IL (ARF). We welcome other animal shelters and rescue groups to contact us to participate in this weekly column. To participate, contact  Local Editor Mary Ann Lopez.

Rocky

Rocky is a fun, loving, adult male boxer with undocked ears and tail.  His foster family thinks he may be purebred, or very close to it.  He is very loving and affectionate and likes to run and play.  He was a little malnourished, but he's eating well and will recover all of his muscle tone. He weighs in the upper 50-pound range now.  He likes to snuggle and be with his people, but he can entertain himself outdoors better than a lot of dogs.  He is housetrained, is pretty good on the leash, and hasn't barked much. Rocky is good with dogs, cats, kids and up-to-date on vaccines.

Calista

Calista is one of the great mom cats at ARF. She came to the rescue group with her kittens who have since found homes. She has served as a surrogate to help orphaned kittens grow and survive. She is sweet, loving, happy and deserves a great home of her own. She is housetrained, has her nails, needs moderate exercise. She is a quiet, indoor only cat that is well trained. She is good with other cats and older/considerate children. She is friendly with new people and up-to-date on her vaccines.

The Animal Rescue Foundation – IL (ARF) is a no-kill, volunteer based, nonprofit, dedicated to enriching the lives of animals that society has abandoned, rejected, and neglected.  We do this through promoting responsible pet ownership. Animals are fostered at homes and the organization does not have a shelter.
