Celebrate the new year with The Anything Trio at Cab’s Wine Bar and Bistro. The bistro will have three seatings on Dec. 31, at 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Noisemakers and hats will be provided to party-goers.

The Tap House Grill will have balloon drops celebrating the new year throughout the night of Dec. 31. The restaurant has seatings at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. During each seating there will be a countdown to the new year and balloons will drop in celebration. It’s a great event for families to ring in the new year together. However, according to restaurant employees space is filing up quickly, so call and see if seats are available.

There will be several musical performances at The Ivy of Wheaton on New Year’s Eve. High Strung and Jen Cok and Ken Sleuth will perform for diners and celebrants.

No entertainment is slated yet for New Year’s Eve, but management hopes to book someone soon. Diners can enjoy a 12 percent discount on their meals in honor of 2012. Reservations are suggested.

The Bank will offer a limited menu on New Year’s Eve with multiple appetizers and entrees. There will be no live entertainment that night, but on Dec. 30 there will be live music.

If you want to dance in the new year, Hotel Baker in St. Charles has a DJ and cash bar. Dancing will be in The Rainbow Room and tickets are $15 per person. The hotel also features a dining experience with two seatings, but tickets for that option are sold out.

Countdown the new year at 6 p.m. and midnight at the Naperville Millennium Carillon. Prior to the countdown, the Downtown Naperville Alliance will host a scavenger hunt from noon to 5 p.m., while the Naperville Park District will open the Riverwalk Eatery from 5 to 7 p.m.
