ABC 7 Karen Meyer Scheduled to Visit Glen Ellyn's Kaitlin's Hideout

Chicago's ABC7 News is scheduled to interview Kaitlin's Hideout.

I am just thrilled to share that ABC 7 Chicago Disability Reporter Karen Meyer is set to visit to conduct an interview with our staff and parents of children with Autism.

I am beyond excited and nervous!

I am most definitely a fly below the radar girl.

In fact for the first almost five months of our journey, I couldn't even put my face out there in any of our print media support!

What holds me back you might ask? Perhaps a touch of the autism beast, I suspect!

Somehow I must draw from deep within to do this interview, it's that important to our center and for helping to raise autism awareness, which is my life passion!

Dedicated to helping families and children touched by Autism, we have been open for seven months now and we've come a long way!

It has been a tremendous struggle however, we are a small, grass roots, ground breaking organization that has big plans for the future.

This type of media coverage may perhaps help to put us on the map, giving us the exposure we need to reach hundreds of families that will benifit greatly from all we have to offer.

I am also hopeful that this type of coverage will reach the hearts of organizations and persons dedicated to helping children with disabilities by offering financial support and sponsorship.

We have obtained state not-for-profit status and are currently applying for federal 501c3 non-profit status.

We are in need of financial support so we may continue to support families with resources, social opportunities and community events that will greatly enhance their lives and help to improve their children's daily functioning.

Please join us on January 4, 2012, to share your autism journey and to help educate the public on this devastating epidemic we call Autism.
