Jennifer Jendras: Running for Glenbard District 87 School Board in the April 9 election

Hello.  I wanted to take some time and introduce myself.  My name is Jennifer Jendras and I am running for School Board in Glenbard High School District 87.  

Out of a seven member school board, there is only one member that has a student that attends school in the school district. I feel it is important that the number of parents with children in the district on a school board should be higher.  I understand a school board represents a wide variety of interest groups, but no one looks out for a child's best interest in education more than a parent with a vested interest in that education.  I also feel very strongly about a parent and child having more opportunity to decide on courses that they feel will be best for their child's educational journey whenever possible.

I have a website at http://jjrg76.wix.com/schoolboardjendras that gives information on my background and the reasons as to why I decided to run.  I've lived in the district for 12 years. I've volunteered on a lot of organizations including being PTA president of my children's middle school, 4-H, and being on the Village of Lombard's Environmental Concerns Committee for 10 years.  My children are very active in the high school playing in sports such as girls volleyball, cross country, track, cheer and badminton!  And one of those daughter's is also in the high school choir.  I know the pressures kids face trying to accomplish what their heart's desire, so you will see me out there listening what you have to say.
