Fierce Dedication Brings These Eagles Players a Championship
NFC 83 Gold's defense was on fire in the shut-out win against Hinsdale Saturday.
NFC 83 Gold, the only Glen Ellyn Eagles football team to make it to the Super Bowl this year, won the championship against Hinsdale 12-0 on Saturday, Nov. 10.
The team gave up only four touchdowns the entire season.
NFC 83 Gold is made up of 15 fourth-graders and two third-graders, who are led by six dedicated coaches. Two of those coaches, Don Hollensbe and Rob Johnson, dedicate their time even though they don't have children in the program.

The Super Bowl was played at Benedictine University in Lisle.

In addition to Hollensbe and Johnson, the coaching team is composed of head coach Greg Pierce, Chris Warden, Mike Viola and Glenn Ranchero.
