Spend Black Friday at the Library!

GEPL invites you to spend Black Friday at the library.

The and the Friends of the Glen Ellyn Library invite you to spend Black Friday, Nov. 25, at the library. With a variety of free activities for all ages and a used book sale, you can spend the day after Thanksgiving with your family and avoid long lines at the mall.

From noon to 4:30 p.m., the Friends of the Library will be hosting a used book sale in the library basement. The Friends have amassed a huge collection of items for their sales via generous patron donations. Spend some time at the sale looking for buried treasure or a unique gift for loved ones. There is no fee for admission; scanning devices will not be permitted.

Beginning at 1:30 p.m., you can visit the library’s first and second floors to celebrate the season with the Glen Ellyn Public Library’s annual Holiday Walk. There will be crafts for children to make and refreshments (1:30-4:30 p.m.), balloon creations (2:30-3:30 p.m.) and a magic show (3:45-4:30 p.m.) for children on the first floor of the library. Patrons of all ages will enjoy live music from a variety of local performing groups on the library’s second floor. See Vivaldi strings (1:45 p.m.), Anima (2:30 p.m.), One Voice Choir (3:15 p.m.), and the Glenbard South Madrigal Singers (4 p.m.).
