New Fiction Book Discussion
If you enjoy reading literary fiction, the Library has the book group for you. We will talk about books we've read, books we'd like to read, and writers we love.
There is a new book discussion group at the Glen Ellyn Library, called the New Fiction Book Discussion. This group focuses on cutting edge literary fiction titles. Literary fiction is a common term for books with psychological depth and a focus on characters, and less emphasis on the narrative. Wonderful books like Let the Great World Spin, The Plague of Doves, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao all fall in to this fiction genre.
On Tuesday, November 8 from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Glen Ellyn Library, the New Fiction Book Discussion group will be looking at A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. Librarian Phil Spirito runs the group and has reviewed this month's title in one of the Library's What We're Reading video recommendations (watch it in the upper right of this page).
If you don't have time to read the book by November 8, you're more than welcome to attend the discussion anyway. You can also check out this list of future titles to be discussed and work your way ahead.
