Library Event Aims to "Feed Our Community"

On Thursday, July 11 Patti Jiminez of the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Susan Papierski, Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry will discuss the missions of the NIFB and the GEFP, their resources and their impact on the Glen Ellyn Community.

The event will take place from 7-8:30pm at the Main Street Recreation Center: 501 Hill Avenue.

“Feeding Our Community” was inspired by the Glen Ellyn community’s overwhelming response to the library’s philanthropic-based Summer Reading Program.

“The Glen Ellyn community is unique in their dedication to humanitarian efforts,” says Marketing Coordinator Anthony McGinn. “During our daily interactions with our library members, we’ve observed how sincerely the community works to assist others. This dedication inspired us to launch a coordinated effort to help the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry and Northern Illinois Food Bank. We’re really excited for the opportunity to collaborate with the community.”
