Help Feed the Community by Enrolling in Summer Reading

Are you a Glen Ellyn resident who would like to spend the summer helping feed local families? Participate in the Glen Ellyn Public Library’s 2013 Summer Reading program.

Titled, “Read to Feed,” our Summer Reading program challenges Glen Ellyn adults to read 3,500 books and Glen Ellyn children to read 70,000 hours this summer. In response to the community’s commitment to reach such lofty reading goals, the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn has generously committed to make a donation to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry that will provide enough funding to feed 500 local individuals.

In addition to reading toward a great cause, the library is also offering great prizes for sign-up and participation. Kids (birth through 8th grade) will receive Swedish Fish upon sign up and additional rewards upon achieving their reading goals. Teens can select from a variety of t-shirts from Threadless.com for enrolling and will be entered to win a Kindle Fire upon reaching their goals. Adults will receive a chocolate bar from Divine chocolate upon signing up and will be registered to win an iPad mini and copies of The Twelve Tribes of Hattie by Ayana Mathis (who will be headlining Bookfest 2013 in September).
