Glen Ellyn Public Library Reveals S.T.E.A.M. Fair Exhibitors

The Glen Ellyn Public Library has revealed the official exhibitor list for the Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Fair on Saturday, March 8 from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

The Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Fair is a family-friendly event featuring 18 interactive exhibits showcasing the latest innovations in science, technology, engineering, arts and math designed to support the initiatives established by Glen Ellyn School District 41. The fair aims to introduce children to rewarding S.T.E.A.M. careers while igniting a passion for these emerging fields among the entire community.

Chemical Reaction: A Chemistry Magic Show

Witness an explosive presentation of chemistry’s potential with the Saint Mary’s Affiliate of the American Chemical Society. Shows at 11am and 2pm.

DuPage Children’s Museum

Explore the travelling exhibits shared by the Dupage Children’s Museum. Children can play with shapes, colors and light with the two stations chosen for this event.

Elgin Paranormal Investigators

Learn how to investigate paranormal events. This exhibit showcases the group’s findings, as well as a hands-on demonstration of ghost hunting equipment.

Fermilab

Stop by to test incredible magnet “magic” with the Fermilab Education Office. Learn the basic features of magnets, how magnets react to various materials and what type of work magnets perform.

Glen Crest Middle School

Glen Crest Middle School show off their drafting skills with a display of 3D creations.

Mad Science

Watch and learn with Mad Science as they cover static electricity, complete with the hair-raising Van de Graaff Generator.

Custom Tank Drums

Watch as Custom Tank Drums use S.T.E.A.M. concepts to cut and manipulate old propane tanks and transform them into beautiful musical instruments.

RobotCity Workshop

Observe the fun side of the machine world and use robots to build, learn and play.

SCARCE

Discover the possibilities of renewable resources with SCARCE of Glen Ellyn. Make recycled paper or power a light bulb by pedaling a bike.

SciTech Hands On Museum

Learn about air pressure with the SciTech Museum. Create a flyer and launch it through the air with their giant wind tunnel.

Vulcan Materials Company

Learn about the geology, engineering and paleontology used every day in our quarries.

Workshop 88

Workshop 88 is a makerspace located in Glen Ellyn and will showcase how they use technology, science, mechanics and on a daily basis.

In addition to the fair, the Glen Ellyn Public Library has packed their entire spring quarter with S.T.E.A.M. programs for all ages. Further details for all S.T.E.A.M. related programming can be found at gepl.org.
