Glen Ellyn Teen With Bone Cancer Gets Bedroom Makeover

An 18-year-old Glen Ellyn woman who was diagnosed two years ago with a rare type of bone cancer received a bedroom makeover from Special Spaces this past weekend on the two-year anniversary, or "cancerversary, of her diagnosis, according to the Daily Herald. 

Special Spaces Chicagoland used decor inspired by Genevieve Cipriano's Pinterest account to to makeover the room with a canopy bed, fresh paint and new, distressed furniture, according to the article. 

"Genevieve is an artistic, kind 18 year old who loves nature. She loves fashion- some of her favorite stores are Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. Genevieve was an avid gymnast and dreamt of being a fashion designer," according to the Special Spaces Chicagoland Facebook page. "Genevieve’s flair for design and fashion helped inspire her room makeover."

 In 2011, Cipriano was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, and after rounds of chemotherapy, her right leg was amputated, according to the Facebook page.
