Community Corner

Shop Thursday nights (5-8pm) in Downtown Glen Ellyn this holiday season. You’re giving and we are grateful! Up to 10% of proceeds donated to three local charities.

Glen Ellyn, Illinois, October 22, 2013—We’re
grateful that you’ve chosen to shop locally this season and to show you our appreciation;
Downtown Glen Ellyn businesses are donating up to 10% of their proceeds to
three wonderful local charities.

The
charities will change each week.  December
5 proceeds will benefit The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.  “It is so important to the community to spend
your dollars locally and what could be better than to pass a portion of those
profits to folks in Glen Ellyn that need help.” said Tom Konopacki, owner of
Anastazia-Treasures for the Home. December 12th proceeds will be
directed to Bridge Communities.  Sandy
Moore, owner of AliKat Boutique will present the check.  “We are all so fortunate to have the support
of our community.  It is a pleasure to
give back.”  Last but not least, the Glen
Ellyn Children’s Resource Center will benefit from sales on Thursday night,
December 19th.  “The holidays
are a time for magic for our children.  I
am delighted to present a percentage of the proceeds to a group that provides
for the needs of local children.”  said
Jill Foucre, owner of Marcel’s Culinary Experience. “We want to provide our
customers with the great experience of shopping in Downtown Glen Ellyn while
supporting those in need.”

Our
streets will be lined with luminaries making the sidewalks glittering with
excitement and welcoming you to shop our town.
So make Thursday night your night to shop and enjoy!  We look forward to providing an experience
that celebrates this holiday season.
