League Hosts School Superintendents for Education Update

The League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn is sponsoring
an Education Update with Superintendents from D41, D89, and D87 on Thursday,
February 20, 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane St., Downtown
Glen Ellyn.


The
three superintendents will provide information on what is happening in their

school districts.  Dr. Perdue from District 89 will talk about the Common

Core and what it will mean to our students and districts.  Dr. Gordon from

District 41 will talk about STEAM education (science, technology, engineering,

art and math).   Dr. Larson from District 87 will talk about replacing

some textbooks with computer tablets for the incoming freshman class.  Dr.

Larson will be given time to address and answer questions about D87’s

referendum, which will appear on the March 18 ballot.
