Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc. - Kids in the Kitchen

The Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc. (JLKD) is partnering with SPARK (Strong, Prepared and Ready for Kindergarten) to hold their annual Kids in the Kitchen event at the Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Avenue in Aurora, on Saturday, April 12, 2014 during the Week of the Young Child™.  Kids will be able to participate in activities and games that promote healthy and active lifestyles as well as learn how to prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks that are both tasty and affordable. Kids in the Kitchen will feature resources for parents as well. This free event is open to all local families.  Kids in the Kitchen is part of a national Junior League initiative that addresses a growing problem for our nation’s families and is dedicated to equipping kids and their caregivers with tools to live active lives and choose healthy foods. JLKD is a nonprofit organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
