Intergenerational Fun Day to Celebrate Grandparents/Grandkids

Kids, parents and grandparents are invited to enjoy a day of intergenerational fun, entertainment and food at Windsor Park on Saturday, Sept. 14, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Windsor Park is located at 124 Windsor Park Dr., Carol Stream.

Highlights of the event will include two mobile exhibits provided by the DuPage Children’s Museum. The Rockin’ Fenderskirts will set the musical tone, bringing back the oldies and giving grandparents an opportunity to teach a whole new generation to twist and shout to the rock ’n’ roll classics. A face painter will add new touches to guests’ outward appearance, and a balloon artist will exercise nimble fingers to entertain and amaze. And of course there will be food: hot dogs, chips and sno cones by Kona Ice.

The day will mark the first event in a new partnership between Windsor Park and the DuPage Children’s Museum. “A lot of grandparents live at Windsor Park,” says Jim Steere, Windsor Park director of community services. “They’re always eager to share our resources and beautiful 55-acre campus. This new partnership will be the first of many opportunities for them to share rewarding activities with their grandchildren.”
