Heroes wanted!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month,
and with this year's theme "Be a Hero for Hope," participants are
reminded that through their support and fundraising efforts, they are helping
individuals affected by domestic violence move toward a safer future.
Participants who wish can come dressed as their favorite hero. Form a team and
increase your impact!

New this year — moustache contest. Participants
are encouraged to grow/manufacture a "stache" for a pre-race rally at
Mullen's Bar & Grill, Lisle, on Friday, October 25 — a fun-filled evening featuring
Tres Moustache Band and prizes for the best "staches." The Mullens
event begins at 7 p.m., with music starting at 8:30 p.m. and there will be food
and drink specials througout the evening.

There will also be a Kids' Fun Run and 1-mile
Competitive Run for 14 and under at the Run-Walk, as well as other exciting activities
for the little ones. And with Halloween right around the corner, kids can come
dressed as their favorite hero, too! There will be prizes for best costumes.
