Hadley Junior High School Goes “Under the Sea” this Weekend

GLEN ELLYN — More than 90 Hadley Junior High
School students are set to open the curtains on Disney’s "The Little
Mermaid Jr”
based
on the Hans Christian Andersen Story and the Disney Film. The play is a story about acceptance and
appeals to all ages.

The sixth- to eighth-grade performers have
been at work on the play since December.
An army of volunteers including set designers, production teams and
backstage hands helped in the effort. The play features musical numbers and a
poignant story, all backed by a profession-grade sound, lighting and staging
system.

“This is a timeless tale that is both
entertaining and meaningful,” said Kim Sirvatka, co-musical director of the
production and professional vocal coach. “The kids have worked very hard to
make sure the audience is dazzled with the sets, costumes, music and
characters.  This will be a show that
delights all ages."
