Glen Ellyn and Wheaton League of Women Voters Present “Is There a Fairer Way to Tax the Income of Illinois Residents than the Flat Tax?”

Is there a
fairer way to tax the income of Illinois residents than the current flat tax?

Does Illinois have a spending problem, revenue problem or both? The League of

Women Voters of Illinois has answers to these questions. The League is

supporting resolutions in the General Assembly, which, if passed, will put a

question to amend the Illinois Constitution on the ballot in November 2014. Join the Glen Ellyn and Wheaton Leagues on Thursday, November 21, 2013 to learn more about the proposed amendment and what it could mean for Illinois and its citizens. The meeting will be at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard, Wheaton. Doors will open at 7:00 PM for a meet and greet, and the program begins at 7:30 PM. All interested in learning more about this or the League of Women Voters are invited to attend. For information, contact LWVGE President Jayne Boeckelman at (217) 740-5038 or email jboeckelman@gmail.com. The League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
