Concert by Dr Michael Fritsch

Dr. Michael Fritsch will be performing a piano concert on Saturday evening, March 1, 7 p.m. at St Thomas United Methodist Church, 2 S 511 Route 53, Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Selections will include music from the masters – Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Chopin, as well as Margaret Bonds’ arrangement of “Troubled Waters”, based on the spiritual “Wade in the Water”. Margaret Bonds, a prominent African American composer, was a pianist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the 1930′s. Dr. Fritsch will also perform his original arrangement of the spiritual “Steal Away”.
In addition to serving as St. Thomas’s organist, Dr. Fritsch is on the faculty at College of DuPage. He received degrees in piano performance from Wheaton College, the University of Cincinnati, and from Northwestern University, from which he earned the Doctor of Music degree.
A free will offering will benefit the mission and ministry of St. Thomas United Methodist Church.
