Candidate Forum Held Thursday for March 18 General Primary Election

To better educate voters for the upcoming March 18th General Primary Election, the Wheaton and Glen Ellyn League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum on Thursday,  February 13th, at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard Street, Wheaton, Illinois.

Eligible candidates for State Representative Districts 42 and 48 have been invited along with County Board Candidates for Districts 4 and 6.

The forum is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend. An informal "Meet and Greet the Candidates" Reception will be held from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Following introductions by State Representative Candidates from Districts 42 and 48, the audience will have the opportunity to submit questions, in writing from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Following introductions by candidates from County Board Districts 4 and 6, the audience then will have the opportunity to submit questions, in writing, from 8:10 to 9:30 p.m.

These last weeks before Election Day are an important time for all voters to take advantage of every available opportunity to have their questions answered by the candidates.

Voting is the one time when all citizens have an equal say in standing up for the issues and priorities that matter most.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that does not support or oppose any political party or candidate but whose purpose is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government.  Voter Registrars will be available.

To register to vote, you must be an American citizen, at least 18 years old on the date of the election, and present TWO forms of identification (one with your current address), live within your election precinct at least 30 days.
