Author to Speak on Safe Web Surfing for Seniors

Avoiding online spam, scams, identity theft and credit card fraud can be particularly daunting for senior adults who didn’t grow up in a digital world. Tech-savvy educator Abby Stokes will tackle the topic when she presents “Safely Surfing the Web” at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Windsor Park, 124 Windsor Park Dr., Carol Stream.

Stokes will teach attendees how to safely bank and shop online She will recommend reputable websites with helpful information on travel, health, finance and more.

The author of “Is This Thing On?” and an instructor at Cooper Union and New York University’s School of Lifelong Learning, Stokes has helped almost 190,000 people understand and navigate the latest technology. She says she’s visited more than 120 public libraries, 100 senior centers/computer clubs and hosted webinars across the country to “personally take the digitally challenged by the hand and help them across the digital divide.”

The program and refreshments are free, but space is limited. Please RSVP to (877) 816-8397 or www.RetireAtWindsorPark.com/rsvp.
