4th Annual Sweet's Civil War Reenactment

Please join us on Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 4pm both days at Four Seasons Park in Lombard, Illinois, for the 4th Annual Sweet's Civil War Reenactment.

A single cannon shot will kick off the day at 10am and visitors will be welcome to walk through both the Union and Confederate camps to interact with the reenactors. At 11:30am a small skirmish will take place with a larger battle taking place at 2:30pm. In addition to these two events visitors will also be able to interact with other living historians including a blacksmith, a laundress, a couple portraying President and Mrs. Lincoln, and a folk music group. There will also be sutlers there selling period appropriate wares.

Food trucks will be on hand both days for visitors who would like to enjoy lunch or a snack, and on Saturday evening there will be a candle light tour of the camps available for a small fee. Other activities will be taking place throughout the weekend including a Friday evening outdoor showing of the film "Lincoln", a build a barn station and formation drills for kids on Saturday and Sunday, and a Civil War era dance instruction program Sunday afternoon.

This event is free to the public, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person. All money raised will go to support the mission of the Lombard Historical Society, which is "to collect, preserve, interpret, and promote the history of Lombard and to advocate for our community’s heritage."
