Two Men Caught Trying to Steal Liquor from Dominick's

The following items were taken from the Glen Ellyn police blotter.

Retail theft: Officers responded to a reported theft at , 880 Roosevelt Road, on April 21 at 2:09 p.m. Louis Ballard, 53, of Maywood was charged with retail theft after trying to steal $143.96 worth of alcohol.  

Retail theft: Officers responded to a reported theft at Dominick's, 880 Roosevelt Road, on April 19 at 3:34 p.m. Philip F. Koenig, 23, of Glen Ellyn was charged with retail theft after trying to steal $60.60 worth of alcohol. 

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a report of domestic battery in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road on April 10 at 1:29 a.m. Kelly R. Porter, 41, of Carol Stream was charged with a two counts of domestic battery and was transported to DuPage County Jail.

Theft: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 500 block of Crescent Boulevard on April 17 at 9:45 p.m. The complainant told the officers an unknown offender stole a bicycle from the bike rack at the train depot. The bike is valued at $400. 

Theft: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 900 block of Winslow Circle on April 20 at 7:15 p.m. The complainant told officers that an unknown offender stole a generator, which was located along the side of the house and valued at more than $300.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded a juvenile complaint report on April 18 at 7:35 p.m. in the 100 block of Briar Street. A complainant told several children to stop playing ball in the area beneath her apartment. Later that evening, the children returned and threw rocks at the apartment and broke the window. 

Burglary-Motor Vehicle: A complainant told officers that an unknown offender stole her wallet from her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight on April 20. 

Residential burglary: Officers responded to a report of a possible residential burglary in the 200 block of Bryant Avenue on April 23 at 5:47 p.m. A resident told officers that an unknown offender entered her home and stole several items. 

DUI: James Steward Jr., 54, of Glen Ellyn was charged with driving under the influence and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage on April 23 at 11:47 p.m. on Main Street and St. Charles Road.  

DUI: Robert A. Calamia, 44, of Hoffman Estates was charged with a DUI and issued a traffic citation for disobeying a stop sign at Main Street and Crescent Boulevard on April 19 at 11:23 p.m.

DUI: Maricela Velazquez, 30, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with driving under the influence and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage on April 23 at 3:16 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Sunset Avenue.
