Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for DuPage County Until 1:15 a.m.

Strong winds in excess of 60 miles per hour are expected.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for DuPage County until 1:15 a.m.

At 12:11 a.m., Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, cloud to ground lightning and very heavy rain. The storms are located along a line extending from Streamwood to Romeoville and are moving east at 40 miles per hour.

Locations that will be impacted include Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Addison, Villa Park, Oak Brook, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge and points in between.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday for northeastern Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
