New Year's Eve 2012 Events in the Suburbs

A number of celebrations and events are taking place around the area. Here are some options to ring in the New Year.

Patch found several celebrations right in our own backyard. Check out these events and see if one is right for your celebrating style.

Glen Prairie

Want to ring in the new year while dining in style? Then head over to Glen Prairie for a three-course meal including a choice of soup or salad, entrée and dessert. The meal is $55 per person. The dinner will be offered from 5 to 11 p.m. and includes a complimentary glass of Champagne.

Cab’s Wine Bar Bistro

Cab's has two options for enjoying an incredible New Year's Eve. Celebrate with either a three or four-course meal and enjoy music from The Anything Trio. The bistro will have three seatings on Dec. 31, at 5:30 to 6 p.m., 7 to 8 p.m. and 9:30 to 10 p.m. Evening includes a glass of sparkling wine, music and noisemakers and hats will be provided to party-goers.

Abbington Distinctive Banquets

The Abbington will host a night of food and music with a five-course gourment meal prepared by Executive Chef Robert Fabbri, the main course will offer an 8 oz filet mignon & grilled jumbo shrimp entree. The evening will include a five-hour premium open bar, party favors, midnight champagne toast and ball drop, valet parking and a DJ. $115 per person.  

Ivy Restaurant

There will be several musical performances at The Ivy of Wheaton on New Year’s Eve. Drew Roberts will perform for diners and celebrants. The evening includes a choice of soup or salad, featured entree, dessert, champagne toast, party favors and music. 

Arrowhead Golf Club

Enjoy the holiday like a King or Queen, with king or queen cut prime rib dinner specials. Prime rib specials are available after 4 p.m. 

Hotel Baker

Enjoy an evening of fine fare prepared by Executive Chef David Hassan. Dinnerincludes choice of soup or salad, choice of entree and choice of dessert. Call for reservations. 

Naperville Millennium Carillon

Enjoy two countdowns to the New Year; one for the family and another later in the evening when the kids are home asleep. The family countdown to the new year will be held at 6 p.m. Then for the official countdown, the tower will be flanked by spot lights and Tim Sleep and Sue Bergren will play a program of carillon duets in the Viennese New Years style starting at 11:15pm. At 11:55 the countdown to 2013 will begin. Even will happen regardless of weather.
