'Manpower Issues' Cause Metra Train Delays, Cancellations

Some trains are operating an hour behind schedule.

Some trains on the Union Pacific West Line are operating nearly an hour behind schedule. 

The delays are caused by "manpower issues," according to Metra's website and numerous e-mail alerts. 

At least six trains have been canceled and many are running well-behind schedule.

A Metra spokesperson attributed the tardiness to a combination of family leave and staff training. 

The Daily Herald is reporting that 13 engineers failed to clock in today
