Discussion Monday Night Tackles 'Fracking' in Illinois

The Sierra Club River Prairie Group is hosting a discussion about fracking and it's possible use in Illinois during an event tonight at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center.

Fracking has received prominent attention recently as the film Promised Land featuring Matt Damon and John Krasinski puts the focus on the controversial practice of releasing natural gas.

Glen Ellyn residents who want to learn more about hydraulic fracturing – fracking – the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at high pressure to fracture shale and release natural gas have an opportunity to attend an event at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center tonight.

The Sierra Club River Prairie Group is hosting the event titled Fracking: Truth and Consequences, which will touch on the proposal for hydraulic fracking in Illinois.
