Calling all gardeners and residents interested in landscaping. The Citizens for Glen Ellyn Preservation are hosting a historic landscape workshop, Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Ben Franklin Elementary School.

The free event will feature Barbara Geiger, a landscape historian who teaches at the School of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Chicago Botanic Garden and the School of Art Institute in Chicago.

The topic of landscape preservation is a timely topic as the Glen Ellyn Village Board is currently considering ways to curb the loss of foliage by revisiting the tree preservation ordinance. The Citizens for Glen Ellyn Preservation,  recognize the community's trees and green space as an intrinsic characteristic of the village, and invite all interested residents to attend the free event.
