ComEd Reports 20,000 Without Power

About 8,000 customers are without power in the western region of northern Illinois.

After today's thunderstorms, Commonwealth Edison is reporting a total of 20,000 customers without power, and about 8,000 in the western region of northern Illinois. 

According to this outage map, 51 to 500 customers are without power in the Glenbard region, which includes Glen Ellyn. 

"We have crews deployed in the field working now," said Tony Hernandez, ComEd spokesperson.

No word yet from the Glen Ellyn Police Department but readers are reporting closed roads and outages throughout the village. 

According to one reader, Main Street is closed near downtown Glen Ellyn, and Park Boulevard is closed near Crescent Boulevard. No word yet as to the cause of the closures.
