DTA Wildcats Win Two at Chicago Scouts Association Showcase

DTA Wildcats 17U College Exposure baseball team played in the Chicago Scouts Association Wood Bat Showcase event at Lincoln Way West High School on June 18th - 20th. This was an invite-only event that combined the top travel teams from the Chicagoland area as well as teams from Wisconsin and Indiana.
On Wednesday the DTA Wildcats won the first game 7 – 2 vs. the Hitters, one of the top travel teams from Wisconsin.  Cole Nelson (Sycamore), Dylan Roskin (Schaumburg) and Grant Greeno (Glenbard West) combined pitching forces to limit the Hitters to only two runs.  Offensively, Alec Kozak (Sycamore) drove in three runs with two hits and Grant Greeno drove in two runs with a double.  Ben Chally (Geneva) added two hits and scored twice and Drew Ellam (Waubonsee Valley) added two power hits as well. In the second game, a late rally by the Chicago Aces tied the game at 3 – 3 and prevented a DTA Wildcats victory.  John Crosby (DeKalb), Christian Howell (Metea Valley) and Michael Boehmer (St Charles East), combined to limit the ACES to only five hits in the game.
On Thursday, the DTA Wildcats put on a dominate performance offensively and defensively to beat the Sparks 5 – 2.  A big two out bases loaded double by Alec Kozak (Sycamore) broke open the game while Matt Albin (Glenbard North), Max Novak (Geneva) and DJ Varney (N. Aurora), shut down the high powered Sparks offense on the mound. To follow the DTA college exposure teams or learn more about upcoming tryouts got to www.dtawildcats.com.
