Unusual Glen Ellyn Home Featured on Today Show

An unconventional home landed a cameo on NBC's national morning news show. Hear what Today's realtor had to say about Glen Ellyn:

"If you say you live in Glen Ellyn, in Illinois, everybody knows you're affluent, you're smart and you have two perfect kids," said Today Show real estate contributor, Barbara Corcoran.

NBC's Today Show featured a four-bedroom home from Glen Ellyn during its Friday real estate segment that showcases homes for sale all across America. The quip about Glen Ellyn made host Al Roker laugh on-air, and when Patch told the home's realtor about the wisecrack, she laughed, too.

Koenig & Strey realtor, Pattie Murray said she's received numerous emails and phone calls from friends about her listing appearing on the national show but said she's received very few calls from interested buyers, which may be a good thing.

The home is currently under contract, said Murray, she's just waiting to close. Recently, an individual stepped forward to buy the home and although it's not complete, it's in the very final phase of purchase.

Murray said this will be the home's third owner. The first homeowners constructed the home in the 60s and wanted something "unusal contemporary." Listed at $367,500, the home has four bedrooms, three baths and sits on 1.75 acres of land

"It's not for everybody," said Murray. "You either love that kind of house or you hate it, there's no in between."

The home is located near downtown Glen Ellyn, east of in the 600 block of North Cumnor Avenue.
