New Sub Shop Coming to Fresh Market Center Development

A new sub shop will open next week at The Fresh Market Center development. 

The new 2,230-square-foot Firehouse Subs will open on March 10 at 279 Roosevelt Road in the development, which is anchored by the newly-opened Fresh Market—a 23-790-square foot grocery store, according to The Opus Group spokeswoman. 

“This project has been a great opportunity to partner with the village of Glen Ellyn and bring quality retailers to the area,” said Sean Spellman, vice president and general manager of Opus Development Company, L.L.C., in a press release “The location is ideal to serve the Glen Ellyn and North Wheaton communities.”

Firehouse Subs has over 700 locations nationwide including several sub shops in the suburbs. The sub shop specializes "in hot subs and submarine sandwiches made with premium meats and cheeses," according to the Firehouse Subs website. The business was founded by firemen. 

The Fresh Market, at 285 Roosevelt Road, opened late last month. Other tenants in the The Fresh Market Center include Great Clips and Tide Dry Cleaners, occupying 1,050 and 2,800 square feet, respectively, according to The Opus Group press release. 

Located on East Roosevelt Road between South Lorraine Road and South Lambert Road, the new retail center includes patio seating and 186 customer parking spaces. This is the Fresh Market’s ninth store in the state and the new store is expected to bring approximately 90 new jobs to the area, according to the news release.
