UPDATED:Comings and Goings: Jersey Mike's Opening, Elite Feet Moving

A new Jersey Mike's will be opening in Glen Ellyn on Aug. 8. And, local dance center Elite Feet will be moving to Wheaton.

A father and son team is opening a new Jersey Mike’s Subs *Aug. 8 in . As part of the sub shops grand opening celebration the Jersey Mike’s will be doing a free sub fundraiser in support of Glenbard South and Glenbard West high school boosters.

Bud and Raj Patel own several Jersey Mike’s locations around the western suburbs, including locations in Lombard, Bolingbrook and Oswego. The newest location is at 711 E. Roosevelt Road.

During the grand opening, from Aug. 8 - 12, the sub shop will be circulating 20,000 coupons throughout the community, according to Jersey Mike’s. The coupons will offer a free sub with a minimum donation to the high school boosters.

“We are excited for the opportunity to open our doors in Glen Ellyn and bring this exceptional product to the people here,” Raj Patel said in a news release. “We are partnering with Glenbard South High School and to help them raise money during our five day grand opening fundraiser.  We really appreciate the support from the students at these two schools and we are looking forward to the opportunity to give back to them during our grand opening.”

Jersey Mike’s was founded on the Jersey Shore in 1956 and continued to grow, according to the company. In 2011, the sub chain opened 69 new locations across the country, a 15 percent increase overall.

Jersey Mike’s store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. The restaurant is located at 711 E. Roosevelt Road and can be contacted at 630-793-9610.

Business moving 

, which was located at 525 Crescent Blvd., is moving to Wheaton. 

Founder Christine Marcinkowski of Glen Ellyn said the dance center will relocate to Wheaton this fall.
