Glen Ellyn Meatheads Grand Opening Aug. 17

Meatheads will host two days of private fundraising events benefitting the Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles Football, Chicago Young Americans Hockey and Glen Ellyn Park District Soccer.

Submarine sandwiches may be the big lunch item today, but next week it will probably be burgers. in Glen Ellyn, but it isn’t the only restaurant opening its doors in town.

Meatheads will hold its grand opening on Aug. 17 at its location at 549 E. Roosevelt Road. Two days prior to the grand opening, the burger joint will host private fundraising events for three local groups, Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles Football, Chicago Young Americans Hockey and Glen Ellyn Park District Soccer.

The preview events are private and allow the employees to have some experience serving the public before the restaurant opens, while also raising funds for the groups, said Joe Sanders, Meatheads marketing manager. Those who attend get a free meal, with a minimum donation.

The Glen Ellyn location, the eighth location in Illinois, opens to the public at 11 a.m. Aug. 17, Sanders said. The Bloomington location was the company’s first and it opened in 2007. Meatheads has plans to open additional locations in Roscoe Village in Chicago, Frankfurt and Lincolnwood.

“All of our food is fresh and never frozen,” Sanders said. “Our beef is 100 percent Angus. Everything is fresh daily. We have fresh cut fries and the only thing frozen is ice cream for shakes. We like to give hospitable service and like to provide a family dining experience for the whole family.”
