Glen Ellyn Man Wins National Award from Qdoba

Carlos Vuelvas one of four Qdoba employees selected for Pride Award.

Within a few years, Carlos Vuelvas has risen through the ranks at Qdoba Mexican Grill.

He went from a night shift line server to cook to store manager and, now, works as regional manager. His ascent in the company now includes its Pride Award, an honor given to only four employees around the country, according to Qdoba.

Vuelvas, of Glen Ellyn, was chosen because of dedication and commitment to his employees and customers. The Pride Award - which stands for Passion, Respect, Intergrity, Dedication and Excellence, honors outstanding individuals who exemplify Qdoba's core values and apply them to their work and personal lives to ensure personal sucess, the company stated.

Vuelvas continues to flourish by becoming the first Qdoba employee in the Chicago area to complete a master level program within the company which involves greater amounts of responsibility within the restaurant, including training of fellow team members. As a master, Vuelvasa is considered an expert in all aspects of the kitchen and restaurant operations.
