Gifts Fun and Flirty for Just Under $30

It was a difficult assignment, but one I was willing to accept for the good of the town. My mission: To visit the vibrant and eclectic boutiques of downtown Glen Ellyn in search of unique gifts for under $30.

Yes, I had been asked to shop.

From the get-go, it was obvious that juggling my camera and my peppermint mocha would be challenging, but I persevered. As instructed, I pounded the streets of this picture postcard village, though the sound of my boots hitting the cold hard concrete was a bit muffled by a fresh blanket of gently falling December snow. And the snow flakes? The snowflakes, they actually stayed on my nose and eyelashes! Go figure.

Despite, the enormous, but rather elegantly flocked Christmas tree obscuring my vision and a near collision with Santa, I managed to follow the red velvet ribbons adorning the lamp posts, making my way into shop after shop, pausing only to listen to the bright clear voices of carolers strolling past.

I am pleased to say to announce that I have been successful. Yes, Virginia, you can find a number of lovely gifts right in downtown Glen Ellyn for under $30.
