ComEd: 1,000 Customers Lost Power Thursday Evening

ComEd says the cause of the outage is undetermined.

Approximately 1,000 customers lost power for about an hour Thursday evening, according to a ComEd spokesperson.

Residents in northern Glen Ellyn lost power around 8:39 p.m. and were left in the dark until 9:25 p.m. The boundaries of the outages were roughly from Kenilworth Avenue to Western Avenue, and near Bloomingdale and Geneva Roads to Duane Street. As of 11:35 p.m. Thursday, the cause of the outage is undetermined.

During an outage customers can text ComEd to report the problem. ComEd also offers real-time information via text so customers know when power is restored.
