Bridge Receives $20,000 Grant for Employment

Bridge Communities was one of 25 not-for-profit organizations in DuPage County to receive a grant from the 2013 Spring Community Needs Grant Cycle of The DuPage Community Foundation based in Wheaton, Illinois.  The $20,000 grant, awarded at a special distribution breakfast on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn, will help support the Bridge Communities’ Employment Program, which provides at-risk adults in Bridge’s Transitional Housing Program with job readiness and employment counseling.

“We’ve made great strides in expanding and improving our Employment Program to reach more clients, helping them get better paying jobs with more potential for advancement,” explains Mary Zienty, Bridge Communities’ Manager of Employment Services.  “Our Job Readiness Workshops have already helped dozens of clients find better jobs, which goes a long way toward helping our clients achieve self-sufficiency.  This grant allows us to continue providing the Workshops to assist even more clients.”
