The Wheaton Symphony Orchestra Goes Pops! Summer 2012 Schedule Announced

Yes, at the request of audiences and performers, the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra has changed its programming to all pops concerts.  Early season ticket sales and increased orchestra applications have proven that this is the way to go!

All concerts start at 8:00 p.m. and are held at Glenbard South High School, 23 W 200 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn.

Saturday July 7 – Broadway Memories

Featuring vocalists Christine Pfenninger, soprano and David Pfenninger, baritone.  
Musical selections are from The Music Man, Camelot, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, and more.

Saturday July 28 – George Gershwin in Concert

Featuring Mary Schallhorn on piano.  Music includes favorites from An American in Paris, Rhapsody in Blue, The Man I Love, and Porgy & Bess.

Saturday August 4 – Irving Berlin & Andrew Lloyd Webber

Featuring four vocal soloists.  Music includes songs from Call Me Madam, Annie Get Your Gun, White Christmas, Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, and others.

Saturday August 11 – The Music of John Williams

Featuring music from Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, E.T., Star Wars, and others.
