More than 20 local restaurants participating in festival

Sample dozens of delicious dishes prepared by chefs from a variety of local restaurants at Fall Festival of Flavors, the annual community fundraiser to benefit Adventist GlenOaks Hospital. GlenOaks Hospital Foundation is hosting the event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 13 at Medinah Shrine Center, 550 Shriners Drive, Addison.

Guests can enjoy signature dishes prepared by chefs from 21 area restaurants and caterers. Event co-chair Rosanna DeFrenza owns RoccoVino's Ristorante & Pizzeria in Carol Stream along with her husband, Rocco DeFrenza, and business partner, Savino D'Argento. This year, she enhanced the upscale qualities of the event by emphasizing a sweeping variety of foods and encouraging enthusiastic participation from area venues.

"It's all about building relationships and doing something good for others," DeFrenza said. "We're showcasing how the hospital helps the community and people get to sample our food. This isn't something you accomplish with a coupon in the mail."

Echoing that statement was event co-chair Keith M. Knautz, director of golf course operations at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club in Glendale Heights. The Glendale Lakes Golf Club has created dishes especially for Fall Festival of Flavors: Artichoke Bruschetta, Mozzarella and Tomato, Beef Tenderloin topped with a Lemon Pepper Béarnaise, Tilapia in a Lemon Butter Sauce over a Bed of Rice. RoccoVino's Ristorante & Pizzeria will serve its popular Stuffed Eggplant and Chicken Marsala.
