Local Author Shares Stories Behind the Stories

Wheaton Community High School graduate (back when it was the only high school in Wheaton) Charlene Ann Brown Baumbich, class of 1963, is excited to celebrate the release of FINDING OUR WAY HOME (Waterbrook Press/Random House), her sixteenth book and ninth novel.  With a chuckle, she declares that no one would be more shocked--and possibly disturbed--about her ongoing authorship than her high school English teachers.

Baumbich, also a speaker and humorist, and married to husband George, is a forty-three-year resident of Glen Ellyn.  Sons Brian Baumbich and Bret Haskins both graduated from Glenbard West, her old Wheaton Community High School's great nemisis.

With local flair, she'll share stories behind the stories about not only the craft of writing, but her amazing and inspiring "visit" with the two strong female characters in her latest novel.

How did she come up with them? When asked, Baumbich said (and apparently to herself, since she's the one writing this press release ;-)), "Sasha started murmuring in my ear and wouldn't go away. When I finally gave in to her, sat down and began writing, Evelyn, who I didn't even know was going to be in the book, showed up and instantly became an equal partner in the storyline."

Come join her for a fun evening, a happy celebration of the world of professional ballet and the uncommon friendship between Sasha and Evelyn. Baumbich will speak, read, engage in a Q&A and pass out a few door prizes. The event is co-sponsored by The Book Store, so books will also be available for purchase and signing.
