Buffalo Theatre Ensemble's "Private Lives"

Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, Ill.  “Private Lives” previews Thursday, May 5 at 8 p.m. Press opening is Friday, May 6 at 8 p.m.

The epitome of urbane wit and sophistication, this sparkling comedy takes place on the veranda of a hotel in Deauville, France, where a divorced couple (Elyot and Amanda), now remarried and honeymooning with their new spouses, discovers some very unwelcome neighbors – their exes!  Fireworks ignite as their accidental reunion reveals the potential for a rekindled relationship.  The New York Times observes “…(Coward’s humor) is derived from an antic sense of the ridiculous and a shrewd observation of human behavior,” and the Oregonian raves, “Never has rapier wit and screwball comedy, rebellious flippancy and sophisticated romance been so tightly woven as in ‘Private Lives.’"Tickets are $23 to $33. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m. For more information, call the MAC Ticket Office at (630) 942-4000, or purchase tickets online at www.AtTheMAC.org.
