Warner is a native of Northbrook and graduated from the University of Illinois Creative Writing Program in the days of Dave Eggers. He has since gone on to edit McSweeney's Internet Tendencies, write three previous books and provide the color commentating for The Tournament of Books. His new book The Funny Man is about a comic's extraordinary rise to fame. It has been called a "whip-smart satire of celebrity culture." It is available in hardcover and as a Google ebook from The Bookstore's website at www.justthebookstore.com

Guilfoile is a resident of nearby LaGrange, and is the author of the highly acclaimed The Thousand and Cast of Shadows. Guilfoile is a contributor to The Morning News, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern and McSweeney's Internet Tendency. Along with Warner, he provides the highly entertaining commentary to The Tournament of Books every March. The Bookstore highly recommended The Thousand on The Bookstore's blog when it came out in hardcover last year.
