Around the World Concert at First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn on May 20

First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn continues its community concert series with a springperformance of music from “Around the World” on Sunday, May 20 at 5:00 in the church sanctuary.During the first act musicians will perform music from a variety of countries, including Brazil, Spain,Germany, and France. The second act will feature music celebrating great American destinations,including Chicago, New York, Texas, Georgia, and others.

A group of celebrated Chicago area musicians will perform, including singers Angel Barrett and Daniel Riley; instrumentalists Steve Suvada on classical/jazz guitar, Eun Kim on cello and Taka Matsunaga onviolin; and band members: Shawn Sommer on bass, Frank Alongi on drums, Steve Suvada on guitar withMarianne Kim on piano as well as arrangements.

Produced by Marianne Kim, First Church of Glen Ellyn’s music director, the concert is free and open tothe public. Guests may contribute to an optional freewill offering whose proceeds will support this concertseries. Located at 424 Forest Avenue in downtown Glen Ellyn, the church is conveniently located justsouth of the METRA rail station at the corner of Forest and Duane.
