If you still have some holiday shopping to do—and who doesn't?—the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce and the Glen Ellyn Police Department want to entice you to keep your dollars local.

Every day except Sundays, through Christmas Eve, one lucky shopper in Glen Ellyn's historic central business district will be chosen by a community service officer to receive a $20 Chamber gift certificate just for parking properly. That's right, just don't park wrong.

The village has been working to improve parking lately, adding a new commuter lot at Duane and Glenwood that is available for shoppers after 6 p.m.

"In the spirit of the holiday season, this is a wonderful and unique way to welcome shoppers to Glen Ellyn," Police Chief Phil Norton said. "This is a nice way to say 'thank you' to the people who park responsibly and choose to spend their money supporting local businesses."

Have you been a recipient of a $20 gift certificate?
