Pets of the Week: Six Year Olds Seeking Safe Havens

Every week Glen Ellyn Patch shares adoptable pets waiting for homes with area rescue groups.

Every week we bring you pets looking for homes at area rescue groups. This week the pets are from Animal Rescue Foundation – IL (ARF)

Animal Rescue Foundation – Illinois

Cali

This beautiful 6-year-old, 60 pound, pure bred female chocolate Lab is super sweet.  She happily greets the other dogs in her foster home and wants very much to play and receive love. Her picture doesn't begin to do Cali justice! She knows "sit," "lay down," and "leave it."  We're still trying to figure out stairs.

Cali came to ARF covered with fleas, heartworm positive, and starved for attention after spending the past 2 years living in an outdoor run.  She was hit by a car and received a broken pelvis.  ARF saw that she got the care needed to repair her fractures and her surgeon has cleared her for adoption.  Her prognosis:  No arthritis is expected as a result of her injuries and no long-term restrictions.

Cali is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, crate trained, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $350. Fill out an online application today!
